So you want that 'small town feel' huh?
One often hears, "I moved to this community for the small town feel" and you have to admit that it's very nice to walk into an establishment and have the proprietor or staff call you by name. A few pleasentries and anecdotes, and you leave with product in your hand and a great feeling in your heart.
For me, there's no better feeling than walking through Garden Foods and bumping into John from State Farm Insurance, or running into Stacey from Cowhide while looking for a seat in Cathy's, or waving to the lady from Bolton Family Optical as she walks down the street, or happening upon the mayor's husband, John, at the Pro Hardware store in Caledon East, or having Renato from Carmine's Barber Shop flag me down to say 'ciao' as I sit waiting at the light!
To me, that's the 'small town feeling' that makes living in this community so great - and I owe it in large part to shopping locally. A long time ago I concluded that living here is what I make it.
Sure, our town may grow, but
we can always stay connected to it by staying here to shop, dine and use the great services available right here.
