Take a hike - in Bolton!
Bolton may be Caledon's largest urban centre, but it's not only rich in history, but recreational options are right at our doorstep.
Toronto Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) owns a substantial amount of land in and around Bolton, known as the Bolton Resource Management Tract. An advisory committee is working on making the BRMT part of TRCA's Living City strategic vision of basically marrying human development with the beauty of the environment. This is nothing new here in Caledon or Bolton - we've been doing that very thing for many years. The
Bolton Resource Management Tract acts as a natural connection in the greenspace system of The Living City’s Humber River Watershed. Nature-based recreation and education complement the natural and cultural heritage resources that have been protected, restored and enhanced with the support and stewardship of the community.
Take a walk on the wild side this summer. Across from Edelweiss soccer park in Bolton you'll find the entrance to the Humber Valley Heritage Trail, a great snaking walking path that winds its way through some very scenic landscape. It's also rich in heritage.
The TRCA hopes to integrate passive recreation throughout their holdings in the community. It is looking for public input and support for its vision, including maintaining the health of our groundwater and river systems.
